SENTINEL
The Operational Control Loop

The Anatomy of
Execution.

This is the exact Room 404 journey. It is not a theoretical workflow diagram. It is the executable state machine, escalation logic, and voice-first protocol that runs on the physical floor of a hospital.

The Room State Machine

Every transition is recorded with a timestamp and a role attribution. There are no ambiguous states. A room is either Occupied, Vacant, Assigned, Acknowledged, Cleaning, under Verification, or Ready.

OCCUPIED
CHECKOUT_DETECTED
VACANT
ASSIGNED
ACKNOWLEDGED
CLEANING
VERIFICATION
READY
BLOCKER LOOP:CLEANING → CLEANING_BLOCKED → blocker resolved → CLEANING

The Escalation Matrix

Nothing stalls silently. Sentinel uses a strict, constitutionally configured timer sequence to ensure that unresolved operational tasks always have an accountable owner.

1. Assignment No-Response

Call #1 (0 min)
No Answer (+1 min)
Call #2 (+1 min)
Escalate to HK Supervisor

Cleaning Start Delay

ACKNOWLEDGED but no start signal.

2 min

Cleaning Delay

CLEANING but no completion signal.

3 min

Verification Delay

VERIFICATION pending supervisor action.

2 min
* All timers are configurable via the CMO-signed prioritisation rules. If the HK Supervisor takes no action within their 2-minute window, the task escalates to the Floor Manager.

Voice-First. Zero Training.

80% of housekeeping staff do not have smartphones. Sentinel is designed for them. It uses standard phone calls and missed calls to execute the workflow, eliminating the need for app installations or complex interfaces.

The Voice Call

"Hello, call from Sentinel. Room 404 is vacant and needs to be cleaned. Press 1 to accept this task."

Supported in Telugu, Hindi, and English. HK staff press 1 to acknowledge.

The Missed Call

"Give a missed call to Sentinel when you start cleaning. Give another missed call when you are done."

Zero-cost. Zero-friction. The missed call acts as the start and completion signal.

The Authority Model

Sentinel does not make decisions. It enforces the decisions made by humans. The operational hierarchy is strictly defined to prevent authority drift.

FM

Floor Manager

Escalation Only

Receives escalations when the HK Supervisor fails to act. The Floor Manager does not receive the CLEAN NOW / CLEAN LATER buttons. They are there to break the deadlock, not to replace the Supervisor's operational role.

HKS

HK Supervisor

Primary Decision Authority

Receives the CLEAN NOW / CLEAN LATER prompt. Selects the specific HK staff from the available roster. Performs the physical verification and taps VERIFY ROOM.

HK

HK Staff

Execution Only

Executes the physical work. Signals start and completion via missed call. Reports blockers via natural voice (e.g., "No linen in Room 404").

The Sentinel App and Live Dashboard translate this control loop into a high-fidelity, zero-training interface for the hospital floor.
